Food Sensitivity Tests
Do you suffer from chronic symptoms like bloating, gas, diarrhoea, constipation, headaches, skin rashes, or fatigue that don't seem to have an obvious cause?
It’s possible that a food sensitivity is the culprit! Here are 9 ways an intolerance could be negatively affecting your health.
1. Digestive Health Issues
Persistent digestive problems, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or frequent indigestion, can sometimes be linked to food sensitivities. Identifying and eliminating trigger foods can provide significant relief.
2. Skin Conditions
Conditions like eczema, acne, and psoriasis can sometimes be exacerbated by food sensitivities. Understanding which foods might be contributing to skin issues can help manage and improve your skin health.
3. Energy Levels
Chronic fatigue and low energy can be linked to food sensitivities. Identifying and avoiding foods that trigger adverse reactions might improve your overall energy levels and vitality.
4. Mental Clarity and Mood
Food sensitivities can affect mental clarity and mood. Symptoms like brain fog, irritability, or even depression can sometimes be alleviated by identifying and avoiding certain foods.
5. Weight Management
Difficulty losing weight or unexplained weight gain can sometimes be related to food sensitivities. Addressing these sensitivities might help with more effective weight management.
6. Inflammation Reduction
Chronic inflammation is often linked to food sensitivities. Reducing inflammation through dietary adjustments can help manage conditions like arthritis, migraines, and other inflammatory disorders.
7. Personalised Nutrition
Food sensitivity testing can provide insights into how your body specifically reacts to different foods, allowing you to tailor your diet for optimal health and well-being.
8. Preventing Long-term Health Issues
Addressing food sensitivities early on can potentially prevent the development of more serious health problems, such as autoimmune diseases or chronic gastrointestinal disorders.
9. Improved Overall Health
Understanding and managing food sensitivities can contribute to better overall health, leading to improvements in various aspects of your life, including physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
I offer a range of Food Intolerance tests at my practice. Some can be done in-house, others are samples we send off to the lab.
They are all simple fingerpick blood tests (or saliva tests for cortisol to measure adrenal fatigue), which you can do yourself at home.
If you’re not comfortable with that, I can do it for you for a small additional fee.
Please visit the CNS Lab for more info and prices.
(NB: if you decide to book your test directly through the lab, it will ask for your Medical Practitioner’s name – this means me as the person who referred you, not your GP!).
Here’s Julie’s experience of how acupuncture and a food sensitivity test have massively improved her health:
“I met Sally a few months ago after 6 years of being in pain from hip bursitis and suspected fibromyalgia which the medication from the doctors was causing bad side effects so I stopped and just put up with the pain, so I decided to try a holistic approach.
I’ve had 6 sessions of acupuncture and a intolerance test which showed I’m egg and a slight milk intolerance, I have cut eggs out of my diet and moved to oat milk.
I can’t believe the difference acupuncture has made to my pain, my restless legs have nearly settled, my IBS symptoms have reduced ,less headaches, my joint pain is settling , I’m sleeping better than ever, I wake up feeling ready for the day and my energy levels have improved.
I now don’t get up out of a chair feeling like an old lady anymore!! I am so glad that I met Sally as I didn’t want a life on medication that causes other side effects as I’m only early 40’s. Sally is amazing and really listens to your problems/issues and tailors your treatment to help, she has helped me so much I wish I had met her sooner.”
Please contact me directly to discuss which test would be best for you if you suspect you have a food sensitivity.
I offer a free 15 minute chat so I can answer any questions you may have and help you decide your best course of action.

HPA Axis & Stress Function £180
The CNSLab HPA Axis and Stress Function test uses a convenient salivary sample collection method to assess an individual’s 24hour cyclic cortisol levels, including their morning cortisol surge or cortisol awakening response (CAR) as well as both their morning and afternoon dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) levels. A ratio between Cortisol/DHEA daily secretions is calculated to further reflect Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis balance. This is basically testing for your adrenal function and whether you may have adrenal fatigue.
